Volunteer Recruiter — covering Mercer and Burlington Counties – PART TIME (approx 18 hrs per week)
The Volunteer Recruiter is responsible for coordinating and implementing recruitment activities for the organization to ensure availability of qualified applicants to meet CASA’s needs. Duties include coordinating county-specific recruitment efforts and developing outreach strategies to improve recruiting and retention effectiveness; tracking and monitoring potential volunteers. This position reports to CASA’s Regional Recruitment Coordinator.
Primary Responsibilities:
- With the Recruitment Coordinator, support volunteer recruiting, screening, and interview processes in the assigned counties.
- Actively engage in community outreach to secure a pipeline of qualified volunteer candidates.
- Attend recruiting events, including community fairs and tabling events.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Assist in volunteer appreciation events.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other volunteer organizations.
- Keep volunteer database up to date as it relates to recruitment activities.
- Have a commitment to CASA’s mission of supporting children in foster care.
Qualifications:
Volunteer Recruiter should have the following skills and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree is required.
- Experience in volunteer management, sales, communications or related field is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Capacity to work independently and develop strategies to reach recruitment goals.
- Strong written, oral communication, and public speaking skills.
- The ability to work cooperatively with different types of personalities.
- Willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for recruitment fairs or community events
Salary: $25,000 annually; CASA offers a full benefits package, including a 401k match, health insurance and generous paid vacation.

OPEN POSITIONS — Mercer County
Case Manager/Advocate Supervisor –Full Time
Primary Responsibilities:
- Introduce case to assigned Advocate and review cases with them monthly, providing coaching and support as needed.
- Provide baseline assessment for Advocates as part of case assignment.
- Meet regularly with Peer Coaches to oversee and support their work, and to review new cases for Advocate assignment.
- Regularly participate in all-staff meetings and in meetings with your Program Manager, as scheduled and required.
- Review and approve Advocate court reports to finalize and distribute to court and other legal parties.
- Monitor and document that Advocates are meeting requirements, including seeing their child/ren monthly and documenting contact in Optima, and participating in 12 hours of annual training.
- Provide or arrange for coverage for Advocates and/or Peer Coaches as needed, including at court hearings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; social work degree preferred.
- Ability to speak Spanish preferred.
- Ability to communicate with, supervise and empower volunteers to be effective in their roles.
- Broad understanding of the child welfare system.
- Strong time management skills and high level of professionalism.
- Ability to work cooperatively, in a team setting, and to follow the organization’s procedures for managing volunteers and caseloads.
